The Foster Process

The true benefit of fostering is that you're able to help an animal decompress and adjust to being in a home situation. You give the dog the opportunity to truly be a dog and to have a higher success in finding a permanent home.

We do ask our fosters to be willing to commit to a minimum of a 2 to 3 month period of time. Should it be successful, this time allows the dog to really decompress and get comfortable in a home situation. It also provides the foster a true picture of the dogs' personality, likes, needs and behavior.

Now that you have decided you would like to become a foster, then your next step is to fill out the foster application linked at the top of this page.  Once completed and you're approved, you get to welcome your bully home and here's what we do to support your journey we will provide you - Food, Crate, Collar, Leash, Basic Vetting, Spay/Neuter.  We tried to provide you with the essentials that are the normal out-of-pocket expenses for getting started with a dog.

We ask the foster parent to assist in getting their foster dog to the vet when needed and assist in teaching the dog basic social skills that come from living in a home like walking on a leash, riding in a car, and helping identify and deter behaviors like excessive jumping and barking.  We are here to assist you with all of these issues with suggestions on how to make the fostering process successful for everyone in the family.   What we ask is that you teach the dog how to be a dog.

We do like our fosters to document their furries regularly  with pictures so that we can post them through social media and finding their forever homes.  If comfortable, you may be asked to help with meet and greet for potential adopters.  You will be the ones who know the animal best and will be able to provide the best representation for ultimate success in this process.

Once you feel successful as a foster you're forever one of our fosters.
